Love the Life You Live.

When we allow ourselves to become still for even a moment, we have the opportunity to notice that love always surrounds us.

Love can come in the form of a person, a job, a home, a river or the feeling of a warm coat hugging our shoulders. Love is a limitless language. It’s found in words, tastes, touches, sounds, feelings and more.

There’s a Danish word, hygge (pronounced hoo-ga) that perhaps says it best. This one little word packs in a whole lot of meaning. And that is an acknowledgment of feeling cozy contentment by enjoying the simple things in life.

So I invite you to join me in taking a breath. Close your eyes. Just notice how the air around you warms or cools your skin. Notice the scents of coffee, flowers… or perhaps perfume. Wrap your hands around a warm mug of tea and feel the heat kiss your palms. This is a moment of hygge.

During February, the month of love, I hope you experience endless noticing moments like these. May your love tank be filled to overflowing. And may your heart light the winter sky.

Leaf into Fall and Play!

Take your cue from the trees—the leaves are beginning their dance from sky to earth. They twirl, leap and fly. So can you!

This is the time of year where I feel seriously playful. I allow my grown-up self to step aside while my little-girl self celebrates. Sometimes that means simply lying in a leaf pile for hours enjoying the scent of soil and sun, while I watch the clouds drift across the sky.

Other times I kayak down the St. Croix River, hike my favorite trails, bike or play touch football. Others may prefer picking apples, picnicking or enjoying a bonfire under a starry sky.

Play is whatever brings you joy. There is no rulebook. Just step out your door, breath in the fall air, and let your feet lead the way. And if your feet aren’t sure, just follow your heart!

Waking Up!

I love this time of year! Everything is waking up—including us. Trees are budding. Love is blooming. Birds are singing. And the light is lengthening.

This is our time to start anew. All that we’ve gained while nesting during winter is ready to spring forward. We’re like sprouts in that way. New, green shoots of pure potential.

What to do with all this possibility is up to you. Will this be the season to explore a move? New job? Better self-care? Or a new relationship? How will you supercharge this season of growth?

Mary Oliver says it best in her poem, “The Summer Day”. “…Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” From my point of view, there are only right answers to this question…what’s important is that we celebrate all that’s wild. And precious.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I love February! So for me, this is the perfect time for a love-fest! Welcome to the party!

What I’ve always loved most is connecting with people. And that means you! Because of friends, clients and colleagues like you, I love my life. And my job! So THANK you!

As always, I remain deeply passionate about doing all I can to help you love your life too. Whether that means helping you buy or sell a home, suggesting a cool, new restaurant or sharing a laugh. Each of us is designed to be in relationship. That includes relationships with ourselves, partners, families, jobs, nature and more.

Even this newsletter is about relationship. From the trees that were planted to make the paper, the people who masterminded and produced the technology to print it, photographers who supplied art and many others. We’re all in this together. May each day of February and all the days to come bring even more togetherness and more of everything you LOVE!

Doing Nothing Makes Everything Possible.

Nature in its cycles leads the way to deep awakening. The harvest peaks and leaves become butterfly wings floating to the ground. This is a time of gratitude. And each day is a celebration honoring all the days of summer and all the days of winter yet to come. Fall is a time to pause. To reflect. To rest. I invite you to find your favorite tree, lie beneath it, watch the clouds, notice the blue of the sky and the warmth of the sun on your skin. As you rest, know that the experience of doing “nothing ” is in fact, everything. This is how we create. And whether that means a move for you, a remodel or an investment purchase, it is in rest that we dream our biggest dreams.

If time or the weather doesn’t allow you outdoors, I recommend the less than three-minute, Refresh & Reset meditation by my friend and mentor Jeanine Thompson. It’s available for audio download on her website for just $1.11. You’ll find it under “products” www.jeaninethompson.net.

Planting New Seeds.

As buds begin to open and flowers bloom, the deepest parts of ourselves also awaken. Spring is the time to plant new seeds that reflect what makes us feel most alive. For some, that may mean buying or selling a home, for others it may be learning a new language—but whatever the size of your dream, it all begins with you.

Whether your seeds take the shape of a garden, or potted plants on the patio, each holds the potential for our personal growth and happiness. As this season unfolds, I find myself soaking in all the light and practicing presence. I often watch the sun rise— and set. I notice daily miracles. And enjoy the progress of fresh, green shoots as they push through the soil. As the Earth continues to awaken, I recommend checking out, The Book of Awakening, by Mark Nepo. This is a beautiful book of essays—one for each day of the year; that open with the grace of spring flowers in bloom.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m LOVEing 2017!

It’s the perfect time to launch my new newsletter— a publication that reflects my deepest and truest wish…that I continue to be a catalyst to help you LOVE. LIFE. MORE. and more! and even more! As we step into the new year and into February, the month of love, it’s time to reflect on what matters most. To consider all we’ve learned and accomplished and look forward with fresh eyes, minds and hearts.

It’s time to make plans for travel, fun, new experiences and set new goals. There’s an ocean of opportunities that await us as we grow. One of my favorite books helps me do just that, “The Passion Test” by Janet Bray and Chris Attwood. I’ve turned to this quick and easy read for the last four years. It offers short and simple steps to help identify what’s important and meaningful, while helping incorporate these aspects into your life. I highly recommend it! Love yourself and buy a copy or give it to your sweetheart! (Learn more at www.passiontest.com.) And please let me know what you think! I’d love to hear about your experience!
